Anies Participates in Poco-Poco Dance for Breaking The World Record at Monas

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan participates to dance poco-poco at Monas, Central Jakarta, Sunday (8/5).

It is the evidence that Indonesia can unite and work together to welcome Asian Games

This event is participated by 65 thousand people to welcome Asian Games and break the Guinness World Record.

"Finally after dance for 10 minutes, we have achieved the record and now it is recognized by the world. It is the evidence that Indonesia can unite and work together to welcome Asian Games," he stated in his welcoming speech.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Creative and Cultural Sports Federation (FOKBI) Chief Executive and Chairperson, Sapta Nirwandar explained, 65 thousand people as the representative from each provinces in Indonesia have participated in this poco-poco dance. It is held along Monas-Jalan MH Thamrin-Jalan Sudirman until Semanggi Intersection (Senayan).

"Not only to welcome and succeed Asian Games, but we also want to promote poco-poco and Jakarta to the world," he stated.

Besides Anies, this event also participated by Indonesian President, Joko Widodo; Vice President, Jusuf Kalla; National Police Chief, General Tito Karnavian; TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto; and working cabinet ministers.
